In the first week of August 2022, the Lameness in Ruminants conference was organised in Bloomington in the U.S..
Dr Gerwen Lammers and Daisy Roijackers, MSc from our R&D department represented Intracare. Researchers from all over the world presented their latest insights in lameness.
During the session for small ruminants, Daisy Roijackers presented a study on the single application of Intra Repiderma for hoof problems in dairy goats, showing that Intra Hoof-fit is a promising replacement for antibiotics in areas other than dairy cattle.
Dr Gerwen Lammers presented that Intra Hoof-fit Bath and Intra Eco-Bath do not negatively affect biogas manure digestion. This means that these hoof bath products are safe to use on farms with a biogas manure digester.
After the conference there was a farm tour visiting 2 large Wisconsin dairy farms, making it a good combination of scientific research and the practical implementation of lameness control.
We look forward to the next edition, which will take place 15-19 September 2024 in Venice, Italy.
